Pinotage Travel Backpack — Bespoke Leather in Vegetable-Tanned Hide
Named after South Africa's proudest red cultivar, Pinotage is a deep wine-red in full-grain vegetable-tanned leather. Dramatic in daylight. Unmistakable at a distance.
Pinotage — The Colour
Named after South Africa's proudest red wine cultivar, the Pinotage is a deep, wine-inflected red — closer to a dark burgundy than a primary red. In full-grain vegetable-tanned bovine hide it is dramatic in direct light and rich in shadow.
This is the colour that photographs most immediately and ages most visibly — developing highlight variation along edges and stress points that only a full-grain hide can produce.

The Construction
Every backpack begins with the selection of the hide — full-grain bovine leather, vegetable-tanned and inspected for grain consistency and freedom from scarring. The Pinotage colour is achieved through a hand-dyeing process that allows the natural variation of the hide to remain visible.

The quick-release luggage pass-through in action — the backpack stacked on a rolling suitcase handle for seamless airport travel.

Hardware detail — solid brass buckles, rivets, and RIRI zippers against the Pinotage leather.

The interior laptop sleeve — hand-felted merino wool, colour hand-dyed to complement the Pinotage leather.
