Production Timeline
All straps at Lombard Bespoke Leather are handcrafted locally and made to order. Our current turnaround time is 4–6 weeks from order confirmation.
Weeks 1–3 — Queue & Preparation
Your order is secured in our production queue while selected leathers are carefully prepared and allocated for your specific commission.
Final 2 Weeks — Handcraft & Dispatch
Your strap is carefully handcrafted, hand-finished, and quality checked before dispatch anywhere in South Africa.
As a small artisan workshop, we intentionally limit production to maintain exceptional quality and attention to detail. We truly appreciate your patience and support of proudly South African craftsmanship. 🇿🇦
In-Person
Meet in Person
For those who'd like to see and feel the leathers before committing to an order, Jacques is happy to arrange a meeting. Consultations are held at a coffee shop, either in Wellington or in Cape Town, by prior arrangement.
Wellington is a small town in the heart of the Cape Winelands — about an hour's drive from Cape Town — making it a natural stop for visitors to the region. Jacques also visits Cape Town regularly and is happy to meet there.
He'll bring a selection of leather samples across the full range — including exotic leathers — along with thread and stitching colour cards, and buckle and clasp options. It's a relaxed conversation, not a sales pitch, and there's no charge for a consultation.
01 — Cape Town visitors & tourists
Wellington is an hour from Cape Town in the heart of the Winelands. Jacques visits Cape Town regularly and is happy to arrange to meet there.
02 — Exotic leather commissions
Crocodile, ostrich, and other exotic leathers are best understood in person — feel the texture, weight, and suppleness before deciding on your commission.
03 — Watch & leather pairing
Bring your watch along. Seeing leather samples directly against your case and dial makes colour and texture decisions far more confident.
04 — Unusual hardware & measurements
If your buckle or deployant clasp is non-standard, an in-person meeting allows accurate verification and on-the-spot measurement — avoiding surprises later.
All consultations are by prior arrangement only. The studio is at a private residence and is not open to walk-ins.
