This project took us by surprise, so much so, that we almost missed it. A mail came through from an international interior design company in London, David Collins Studio, requesting information on whether Jacques would be able to offer leather cladding for an extremely bespoke cabinet. Responding took a lot of faith, purely because this project would be different from all other commissions we have done, but it also held the promise of us entering into a completely different realm of leatherwork.
Jacques has always been a lover of “craft;” things that are lovingly made by hand but with a high level of excellence. His eye for detail and precision, his determination as well as growing up in an artistic family has all played a role in assisting him in acquiring the type of skills needed for this level of service.
It was an incredible honour working with the David Collins team as well as having the opportunity to meet and come alongside other incredible craftsmen, namely the cabinet makers, Osterwald and sons.
The project was a catalyst to us working in a different industry where there are no limits to creativity and achieving the very best outcome. We look forward to more of these types of challenges in the future.
