It runs in the family..
Jacques Lombard, founder of Lombard Bespoke, is a meticulous musician and craftsman in fine leatherwork with a passion for detail. He grew up in a creative family environment, surrounded by art and music. Along with this history and a sensitivity for beauty, Jacques has applied his appreciation for the finer details to his leatherwork career.
The leap of faith..
In 2016, Jacques took a leap of faith in his new entreprenurial venture, to make leatherwork his full-time career. This meant putting his qualifications as an Engineering Surveyor behind him to focus on his God-given creative strengths.
He then focused on a niche market for custom luxury watch straps, under his brand Belt & Band.
Pushing the limits..
Jacques was given the opportunity to take on more complex commissioned leatherwork projects. These were outside the scope of their core business, namely custom watch straps, at that time. This push accelerated interest in the business and caused Jacques to further research, develop and improve the techniques used in making the leather products and services he offered. This was the catalyst to placing the business in a position to serve at international standards.
God opens a door..
The business started getting more enquiries for fine leatherwork from well known establishments and persons of influence, both locally and internationally. Therefore Jacques strategically created a brand separation within the company, to focus on bespoke luxury commissions under the brand Lombard Bespoke.
Jacques gives all the glory and honour for his success to the One who has opened this door for him, for sustaining and growing the business over the past 7 years, his inspiration and reason for being - Jesus Christ his Saviour.
